- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
- ⅔ cup chicken broth or chicken stock, or vegetable broth
- ⅔ cup water
- ½ cup less sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon white pepper or black pepper
- 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
