- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2/3 cup sweet onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup ketchup, optional
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 jar roasted red peppers
- 8 hamburger buns, toasted

In a large bowl, combine the egg, onion, basil, Parmesan cheese, garlic, pepper, salt, and ketchup (if using).

Add the ground turkey and ground beef to the bowl and gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
