Prawn Dim Sims
Ingredients
- 4 green shallots, ends trimmed, finely chopped
- 200g cooked peeled prawns, finely chopped
- 1 long fresh red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped
- 12 fresh flour wonton wrappers
- Warm water, to brush
- Vegetable oil, to grease
- 2 tbsp thick soya sauce (Ayam brand)
- 1 tbsp cold water

Reserve 1 tablespoon of the chopped green shallots. Combine the remaining shallots, prawn and chilli in a medium bowl. Place the wonton wrappers on a clean work surface. Spoon a tablespoonful of prawn mixture onto the centre of each wrapper. Brush edges of wrappers with warm water. Pinch the corners together to enclose filling and form pouches.

Brush a bamboo steamer with oil to lightly grease. Place the dim sims in the steamer over a large saucepan of boiling water. Steam for 7-8 minutes or until dim sims are cooked through. Remove from heat. Use tongs to transfer to a serving platter.

Kids' task: Meanwhile, combine the soya sauce and water in a dipping bowl. Sprinkle with the reserved green shallots and serve immediately with dim sims.
