Hash Brown Casserole With Cheese
Ingredients
- (20-ounce) package shredded refrigerated hash brown potatoes, or use frozen thawed hash browns
- 1 (10 1/2-ounce can cream of celery soup
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 6 tablespoons (3 ounces) unsalted butter, melted, divided
- 1 1/2 cups soft fine breadcrumbs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Combine the hash browns, soup, onion, 1 1/2 cups of the cheddar cheese, and sour cream in a large bowl.

Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.

Melt 3 tablespoons of butter and mix with breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over the casserole.

Drizzle the remaining 3 tablespoons of melted butter over the breadcrumbs.

Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.
