Nutella French Toast
Ingredients
- 8 slices brioche bread, or other sweet and rich bread, such as King's Hawaiian or challah, set out to dry for a few hours or overnight
- 4 large eggs
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup Nutella, or other chocolate hazelnut spread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for greasing the griddle
- Raspberries, to taste, for garnish
- Whipped cream, to taste, for garnish
- Confectioners' sugar, to taste, for garnish
Instructions
- 1
Gather the ingredients.
- 2
Whisk together the eggs, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a medium-sized bowl. Pick a size that will fit the bread easily when you are ready to dip them.
- 3
Take a slice of bread and smear it with about one-fourth of the Nutella. Top that slice with another piece of bread. Repeat with the remaining slices until you have four Nutella sandwiches.
- 4
Heat a griddle or large nonstick pan on medium-high heat and grease with the butter.
- 5
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides of the sandwich completely. Dip again if desired.
- 6
Place the sandwiches on the griddle and turn the heat down to medium-low. Cook for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side until golden brown and all the egg has been cooked through.
2 min - 7
Top with whipped cream, confectioners' sugar, and raspberries.
