Maple Leaf Candy
Ingredients
- 2 cups maple syrup (real, not imitation)
- 1 tablespoon butter

Prepare a medium saucepan and a candy mold or parchment-lined baking sheet.

Pour maple syrup into the saucepan and heat over medium heat.

Add butter to the syrup and stir until combined.

Continue cooking the mixture, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 240°F (115°C) on a candy thermometer.

Remove the pan from heat and let the syrup cool for about 5 minutes without stirring.

Stir the cooled syrup vigorously until it thickens and becomes creamy.

Quickly pour or spoon the candy into maple-leaf molds or drop onto parchment paper.

Allow the candies to cool and harden completely before removing from molds or peeling from parchment.

Store finished maple leaf candies in an airtight container.
