Cheese Toastie Beef Burgers
Ingredients
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 500g pkt Coles Classic Beef Burgers
- 1 red onion, cut into 4 slices
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 8 brioche buns, split
- 4 cheese sandwich slices
- 130g (1/2 cup) Coles Special Burger Sauce
- 1 baby gem lettuce, leaves separated
- Extra 1/4 cup Coles Special Burger Sauce
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- 40g (1/4 cup) Coles Special Burger Pickles

Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook burger patties for 4-5 minutes each side or until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm. Add onion slices to the pan and cook for 2 minutes each side or until golden. Drizzle over maple syrup and cook for a further 1 minute. Remove pan from the heat.

Meanwhile, place the base of a brioche bun cut-side down in a sandwich press. Top with cheese and 1 tbsp burger sauce. Top with brioche top, cut-side up and spread with 2 tsp burger sauce. Repeat stacks with remaining brioche buns, cheese and burger sauce (you need to create 8 toasties in total). Toast for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted and buns are golden.

Place half the cheese toasties on serving plates, top with lettuce, patties, extra burger sauce, onion, tomato, pickles and remaining cheese toasties. Serve.
